Mackinaw and Kayaking - Strange Combo!

Ok, so a late blog post - better late than never!

(October 2009_ So the past several weeks have been a blur as the Suitor clan has been on the move!

Dan and I headed to Mackinaw Island for the first weekend in October - to celebrate our anniversary and to visit the Island (Yes, I had never been before!). We found ourselves in a Nor'easter if you will - 50 mph winds and cold rain on the Friday evening we were there. But the next morning - the weather parted and we had the best fall weather imaginable! Sunny, cool. Just after a storm feeling. You could tell the straits had undergone a good beating but the day was marvelous!

Then last weekend, my dad and sister came in for the weekend and we went kayaking on the Rogue River. It was amazing and beautiful and so serene - especially after a week's worth of cold rain. The river moved quite well - we did not have to do a lot of extra work. Float trip...ahhh! We roused up some wildlife on our trip, and I kept sticking my gloved thumb in the water...ah the novice kayaker am I!

Caleb's Big Breakfast Adventures

Affectionately known as the "petri dish', Grammy and Gramps took Caleb to Woodland Mall to play on a gigantic breakfast spread, also known as the children's area. Boy did Caleb have a good time. They go their right before the store's opened and so he had the run of the place for quite a while.

I just wanna a little taste of this butter!

Oh, nothing like a little fiber to start your day off right (part of a balanced diet!)

Oh Banana...don't you cry for me...for I have come to sit besides you, as close as I can be!

Birthday Party Highlights!

Caleb had a great second birthday surrounded by family and a few friends. Our neighbors stopped by to join the celebration - good food, good times! It was a beautiful day. It was awesome to get everyone together at OUR home for once. Our niece Teague and nephew Rory stayed over the night before - the first time they stayed at OUR house since we have always lived so far away! It was fun!

Happy Birthday Caleb!

Today we remember the greatest and most challenging day of our lives - the arrival of our little Caleb. Though not as we had planned, God has given us the greatest gifts and we hold onto it with grateful hearts.

To my sweet child, Caleb, on his special day.

Schinkels Take the Muth!

Been a very busy summer visiting with family and friends. Our latest adventures took us to Saginaw to visit my sister. Tante Amanda was very excited to show us her home and to spend some time with her favorite nephew. We spent one day exploring Frankenmuth (so eloquently referred to as "The Muth") and had a blast doing fun, cheesy tourist stuff. We did the Riverwalk, hit the Cheese Haus, etc. It was great great fun!

Best chicken dinner ever!

Hangin' With Caleb

Here are some of the latest pics my parents took of Caleb this week when they were watching him at our house. He loves to spend time on the back deck at his little table - snackin' and soakin' in the rays! Maizie of course likes to get in on the action. Who can blame her right?

Welcome to our Family Blog...Again!

Ok, so I have decided to change up the blog location for our family posting as the technology we were using was way too difficult to manage. Need something quick and agile - like our son these days! And seeing as how we have moved to a different state, why not move to a new blog to commemorate the event! Yes, we are now back in MI as Dan embarks on his internship at GVSU. I am now working from home - thanks to Intouch for letting me stay on staff and work remotely. It is definitely different working from a home office, but I am adjusting and have notice how productive you can really be when you don't have folks to chat with all the time!

Caleb is such a big boy now 22 months old and has just recently started daycare. You would never know how small he once was! He has enjoyed daycare but not without a few tears here and there. He is learning a lot of things and every day we hear him talk more and more. He has been so talkative at school that he has come back hoarse! He is making new friends, loves playing in the sandbox and comes home covered in it. He is growing like a weed.

Dan started his internship is this week and he is very excited. He has a great group of folks interning with him and he is excited for the school year to start!
